Don’t Wait!

If possible don’t wait to have an inspection performed for you home for Potential Moisture and Mold Issues. Is you suspect any possibility of an issue you don’t see then call me to come out to do it. This way you will know one way or another if there is an issue to address that can safeguard Your family’s health. If put it off then you can have a much worse situation develop that will cost more money to fix and may even be denied by your insurance depending on the situation. The more important aspect is that your family’s health can be adversely affected.

If you are renter the same applies even though you don’t own the property. I tell all my rental clients that if I find moisture/mold issues that are the obligation of your landlord to fix then you can get a rent credit for the inspection especially if the landlord has been notified by you that there may be a mold or dampness problem prior to my inspection. This is because Senate Bill 655 requires owners to ‘maintain properties free of dampness and mold’. It is also part of renter’s rights of California to get a rent credit for necessary expenses if the landlord fails to act.

In addition, once you get the report from me or another inspector you want to send it to you landlord right away so they understand what needs to be done and arrange for it so your family can be safer.

Take care and Stay Safe!
